An initiated woman may not be called to sit in the Sisterhood Circle or her life circumstances may not permit her to do so. She can however, remain connected with the Circle through our Sponsorship Circle.

The ritual of the Initiation is indeed the heart of the Feminine work and healing. A woman is introduced and brought into the sacred circle of initiation through the long held tradition of sponsorship. The act of guiding another woman into initiation is in itself a passage of power and compassion, which deepens her own healing through wise service and giveaway.

Here are some of the ways one may participate in this beautiful tradition:

• Remember your vow and claim yourself to be an initiated woman in your community
• Begin to speak to the women close to you and heart share about your experience of your initiation and of their birthright of initiation. Invite the precious women in your life to attend an Orientation Evening to Changing Woman.
• Host an evening event yourself at your home or at the home of another.
• Come early on Friday of an initiation weekend and prepare the Menarche rooms for ceremony.
• Participate on the registration team on Friday evening, greeting and registering women as they arrive.
• Attend the opening circle of Friday night and welcome the sister whom you have sponsored into the sacred circle.
• Hold space at the sweat lodge for your initiate sister, help with rocks and fire.
• Come in late Saturday to take down the Menarche Altar and set up the room for journey time.
• Come on Sunday to assist in packing and have a meal with everyone.
• Attend the Integration Teaching after the weekend and witness your sisters as we all share the common experience of initiation and sit together in circle once again.

Some of these tasks require a simple orientation, which we are happy to provide. Other exciting ideas are currently in development and it will be our pleasure to update everyone as they manifest into form.
