Reverend Lorraine H. Weber J.D. founding president of EarthWalk
|
Lorraine Weber graduated with honors from Boston College of Law in June 1977. She spent most of her legal career as the court administrator of Wayne County Probate and Juvenile Court and as a Juvenile Court Referee. Rev. Weber also served as Project Director for the Michigan Supreme Court Task Forces on Gender and Racial/Ethnic Issues in the Courts. Today she is a consultant to the State Bar of Michigan on open justice issues addressing diversity concerns such as race ethnic and gender bias in the Michigan Court system and the legal profession.
This is only the tip of the iceberg. When you think about leading a double life Lorraine Weber fits the bill. For many years she has been diligently and undauntingly pursuing the dream that lives in her heart. That dream led her to embark on her own personal growth journey, a Journey that included many forms of teaching about spirituality and the mysteries of Shamanic healing. The course of her search for knowledge and knowing goes on and on. About 8 years ago while still in pursuit of her own growth and dream; Lorraine met Ellen Miller the two of them shared many aspects of the same spiritual path. Through their partnership they created Changing Woman and the Changing Woman Sisterhood. Most of the programs that are being offered by EarthWalk began with the partnership of these two dynamic and creative women.
As can be seen even within the context of her training in law and justice Lorraine has devoted her energies to the protection of children and the valuing of diversity and equal treatment within the community. Three years ago she was ordained as a minister of the Church of Tzaddi. Tzaddi is a nondenominational and nontraditional universal organization whose mission is for fulfilling our agreement with the Creator by bringing light through the educational and healing processes of integrating body mind and spirit.
Like all paths, change is inevitable, and Ellen Miller was called in a different direction to another state. Lorraine, by this time, had found exactly what her task was on this planet, and was very clear about what she was called to do. She already had a large community of men and woman who understood and shared her dream for a spiritual healing center. Lorraine's dream though is much bigger than a spiritual healing center. It is a dream that includes a shift in how we experience community, as well as a shift in how we design and choreograph our EarthWalk.
Lorraine, today spends a great deal of her time as a counselor, healer, and teacher. There is no "from a distance" approach, but hands on involvement with every aspect of EarthWalk and members of the community. Her wisdom, her ability to give of self and the love that is available to all reflects someone who truly walks her talk in beauty and harmony on her EarthWalk |
